To match the increasing demand for electricity, Utah Power is making substantial investments in its electrical power system and is offering customers a chance to be a part of the solution.

Cool Keeper is a simple idea for the summer cooling season—reduce the electricity used for central air conditioning on a few hot summer afternoons, while enabling customers to stay comfortable and balance the demand for energy. Enroll in the Cool Keeper program to help optimize the efficiency of the electrical power system and play an important role in keeping everyone’s costs down.

Cool Keeper is offered to Utah residential and small commercial customers along the Wasatch Front.Participants will earn a thank you credit on their October bills for taking part.

Once enrolled, at your convenience Utah Power will install an intelligent radio switch outside on your home’s central air conditioning compressor at no cost to you. During selected hot summer afternoons, Utah Power will remotely turn your air conditioner compressor off and on for a few minutes each half hour.

Enrollment will help balance the demand for electricity.
